Special Education Advocacy
Students with special education needs are not behind; they simply learn differently than the way traditional school systems are designed to teach. When their needs are not properly supported, they can be left behind, which impacts their self-esteem, confidence, and long-term belief in their own potential. That loss of confidence can follow them into adulthood and keep them from ever realizing how capable they truly are. We are here to advocate for these students.
We walk hand in hand with children and their parents from the first signs of struggle through high school and into college, when accommodations are still needed. While teachers care deeply about their students, many are not formally trained in special education, and many parents who are working full-time simply do not have the capacity to continuously monitor whether every support is being followed. We step into that role so parents can feel confident their child is receiving the education they deserve.
If your child is struggling, we help initiate the process by connecting with a special education professional who can evaluate their needs. We also speak directly with your child, because their voice matters, to understand where they feel they need support and ensure those needs are reflected in the IEP or 504 plan. If a plan is already in place, we provide ongoing follow-up with teachers, staff, your child, and your family to ensure accommodations are being implemented with consistency and fidelity, giving your child the strongest possible foundation for both success and confidence. Because teachers and schedules change every year, we recommend maintaining advocacy support for as long as your child has a special education plan to ensure continuity and accountability.
When accommodations are not taken seriously, schools can be exposed to significant legal liability. We make sure the school fully understands the responsibility and risk they take on when a plan is not properly followed. If a school continues to ignore required accommodations, we can connect you with one of our partner attorneys who specializes in special education law. While we cannot guarantee a specific outcome, we do everything in our power to help you achieve the results your child needs and deserves.
